I will defend my family, friends and anybody else because its only because of them that my life is so much more meaningful and interesting. I think they are one of the most important things/people in my life. I would also defend my homeland, because this is where i belong and have grown up in this Singaporean culture, as a Singaporean and where I have have learnt so many marvelous things. What i will also defend any source of communication i have with others because we need to depend on one another and that would be the only way i could contact them.
Quote: the thing i'd defend in times of threat or crisis is something that is priceless. I will defend my courage and dignity. If we do not possess these qualities, how are we going to survive through our endeavors. If everyone were to be courageous, we could survive whatever threat or crisis that is in store for us, but of course we have to encourage our peers and family to stand strong, so that we can endure the situation.
Firstly, i think that this point of view is very unique and rare. Mostly i agree with him, but he did not mention about what he wanted to defend. Just courage and dignity? With courage and dignity, but without a will to protect others, what would it all mean? If you are able to save yourself but lose the people close to you, what would anything ever mean again? I think besides what he said, he should include his friends and loved ones.
